Ho, Ghana — March 27, 2026

In a ceremony blending tradition, faith, and academic prestige, the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) formally installed its fourth President, Prof. Kenneth Kodzo Nyalemegbe, marking a bold new chapter for one of Ghana’s fastest-growing higher education institutions.

Held at the iconic Dela Cathedral in Ho, the investiture drew a powerful mix of religious leaders, government representatives, academics, traditional authorities, and international partners. The event underscored EPUC’s unique identity at the intersection of faith, scholarship, and development.

Professor Nyalemegbe, appointed in October 2025, assumes the role at a critical juncture. With an ambitious mandate, he is tasked with accelerating the institution’s pursuit of full university status and positioning it as a leading academic force in West Africa.

Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. George Mawusi Afeti, set the tone with a clear directive: build on past gains and deliver transformation. He emphasized the urgent need for EPUC to secure a full university charter, which would elevate its academic standing nationally and globally.

In his inaugural address, Professor Nyalemegbe set a forward-looking tone. He outlined plans to address institutional challenges through strategic reforms and to expand the university’s footprint in applied research and innovation. A key highlight was his vision to integrate agriculture into the university’s economic model, creating income-generating ventures in partnership with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana; the government; and the private sector.

He also announced the launch of a new academic course focused on the Evangelical Presbyterian heritage, an initiative intended to deepen institutional identity and reinforce ethical and spiritual values among students and staff.

The response from stakeholders was swift and unified. Messages of support poured in from across sectors, with faculty, students, alumni, and partners pledging support for the new administration’s agenda.

A respected scholar in agriculture, soil science, and crop physiology, Professor Nyalemegbe is no stranger to leadership. Having served as Acting President of the same institution from 2018 to 2021, his return to the top role is widely viewed as both strategic and symbolic.

For EPUC, the message is clear: this is not merely a ceremonial transition; it is a calculated move toward global relevance.
