Walter Komla Blege, First President of E. P. University College

The Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College announce, with deep regret, the death of Mr. Walter Komla Blege, the Founding President of the E. P. University College. His death occurred on Monday, 1st February, 2021 at the 37 Military Hospital, Accra.

Mr. Walter Komla Blege was appointed by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, as the interim President of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College in October 2006 to see to the preparation of the initial accreditation documents for institutional and programmes accreditation of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College. He completed this assignment with distinction and was later appointed as the first President of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College from 1st September 2007 to 31st August, 2011.

During his tenure as the President of the E. P. University College, Mr. Blege brought his worth of experience to bear on the operations of the institution. As the Founding President, he put the administrative structures in place, with little or no financial resources and laid a solid foundation on which the University College continues to thrive.

His funeral arrangements are as follows:

Friday, 25th June, 2021: Collection of the corpse to the deceased’s Residence at Kpedze

Saturday, 26th June, 2021: Burial Service, Kpedze E. P. Church at 9 a. m.

Sunday, 27th June, 2021: Thanksgiving Service, Kpedze E. P. Church at 9 a. m.

Members and staff of the University community are invited to participate in the funeral activities.

The University College mourns with the wife, children and the entire family.

May the soul of our Founding President Rest in Perfect Peace.
